Pig Butchering is one of the most dangerous scam schemes worldwide. The name comes from "fattening the pig before slaughtering it". Process: 1) Initial contact via dating app, WhatsApp or Instagram - often seemingly random (wrong number dialed). 2) Weeks of intensive contact, often romantic. 3) Introduction of a crypto platform that allegedly generates huge profits. 4) Small test deposit works and shows profits. 5) Larger investments are encouraged. 6) Withdrawal suddenly not possible - taxes, fees, verifications. 7) After paying these fees, additional demands follow. 8) Platform disappears. Warning signs: Unknown person contacts out of nowhere, becomes too familiar too quickly, crypto trading recommendation, alleged profits that cannot be withdrawn.
